Feb. 11, 2010 is the meeting date for Feb.  Membership cards were passed out with meeting schedule on back.  Correction on the April banquet date, the April date is April 22.

Batavia Township was the highlighted township.  Rex Parsons, administrator, gave a brief  bio on the trustees: Lee Cornett,  Jim Sauls and Archie Wilson; fiscal officer, Jennifer Haley; Denise Kelley, zoning administrator; and Ken Embry, Service Administrator.

Banquet Report by Kermit Beckworth: At kick-off mtg. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 all 14 townships were represented.  Next meeting is the 30th of Jan.  Goal:  To do as well as last year.

PROGRAM:   Deer Problem.  Hand outs were provided.  Joe Uecker spoke about the problem.  CCTA can inform, educate and help with the problem as well as communicate with elected officials.

Karl Schulz talked about the importance of taking classes from the National Incident Management System.  They’re available on-line through a link with the township association web site.  Ed Humphrey added that federal and state money will not be available without public officials taking these classes.

Lee presented Denise Kelley with a chafing dish for cooking the meal.  Salmon provided by Lee Cornett.

Donations of $5.00 were accepted to offset the cost of the meal.  A show of hands indicated that a majority of the association members agreed with asking for contributions at each dinner sponsored by the association.

Tom Dix talked about the association working together to accomplish more, e.g. was the electric cost last year.

Dennis Echlinger asked Rep. Uecker about the $20 late fee for licenses.  Rep. Uecker indicated that it could be repealed because of public disapproval.  He also talked about windshield wiper/lights on law.  Both are unpopular.

Linda Fraley said that when licenses are gotten on line the state gets the money; however, if they are gotten locally fees stay in county.

Next month:  Pierce Township on February 11.

Meeting adjourned.
