Meeting Minutes

Clermont County Township Association

February 19, 2009
Pierce Township

Chili and oyster stew night.  A big thank was given to our host and the cooks.

Invocation:  Archie Wilson

Officers: Present

Tom Dix, Lee Cornett, Joyce Richardson, T. J. Corcoran

President Dix called the meeting to order.

Tom Dix had a summarized copy of the Stimulus Package for anyone wishing to see it.

President Dix suggested that the Township Association give an annual achievement award to a deserving member.  After discussion the award was decided by the membership to be called the Clermont County Township Association (CCTA) Achievement Award.  The award will be presented at the Spring Banquet.

Active numbers are listed first honoraries are second.

SPEAKER:  Dr. Milon S. Beljin, Hydrologist.  His topic was Groundwater: A Precious Resource

Lee Cornett gave a banquet report.  He was pleased with the committee. 

President Dix asked Rep. Uecker about District 8’s lack of salting.  Rep. Uecker said that ODOT blamed the conditions on weather patterns that all roads were treated equally.

Congratulations were given to county engineers.

Kermit Beckworth talked about Agenda 360.  President Dix stated he would check on it on behalf of the Association.

Paul Ritchey mentioned that the maintenance personnel in his township used a brine tank which cut down on salt usage.

Larry Cadawallader expressed an interest in serving again on the Health Department Board.

Karl Schultz will serve as Township Association representative to the County Terrorism Committee; Joyce Richardson is alternate.

Dave Spinney asked for involvement in the Ohio Public Works Integrated Committee.  He also reported that radio switch over should be after June.  Motorola is working out kinks.
